John Wayne, the celluloid hero who could pick on women but too cowardly to show up for WWII. Tyrone Power, Jimmy Stewart and Clark Gable among others insisted on facing combat but Wayne made money in Hollywood where he could hide behind the skirts. Biggest fraud on film.
